Scott Beranek, founder of SMJ Auctions, is an Orange County resident, but a Long Island native. His strong entrepreneurial spirit developed at an early age, through a lawncare company, which flourished into his largely successful construction company. In 2008, He earned a double master’s in finance and Economics from Columbus University. In addition, He also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate and a Professional Property Management Degree. With his strong background in real estate and keen interest in auctions, it seemed a natural fit to pursue an auctioneering license. In 2019, Scott became a graduate of the Missouri Auction School. He is an active member of the Virginia Auctioneer’s Association, as well as a Certified Personal Property Appraiser.
When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his family on their small farm or relaxing on his jet ski on the lake.
